Is the content downloadable?

What are the lessons like?

Ann’s courses are professionally produced, filmed and edited. They are full of information that Ann delivers as she dyes the fabric. You will want to revisit them over and over again. As in all Ann’s workshops, the course is process—not product—oriented. Ann’s emphasis is on freedom to learn at your own pace, to pick up information as you are ready for it, then go back and find more that you missed. The platform allows you to rewind at will. Ann’s videos start with the basics and advance to further complexity; she encourages you to explore even further on your own. The 22-page handout Notes-Recipes-Projects covers both Part 1 and Part 2 and gathers all the key elements that Ann wants you to learn, including suggestions exercises for further practice in your studio. This course is designed to feel like your own personal workshop with Ann.

Just like the handouts Ann has been sharing in her workshops for years, they are meant for your individual use; they are copyrighted and not to be reproduced.  All of the basic information is in her book Color by Accident: Low-Water Immersion Dyeing.

What supplies do I need?

All of the dyes and auxiliaries are the same in all the lessons and they are well explained and illustrated in Ann’s book, Color by Accident: Low-Water Immersion Dyeing. Ann begins at the beginning in the videos, covering all the supplies you need, which colors she uses most recently and what kind of containers. There aren’t too many tools, and Ann explains some of the many alternatives. As you view the lessons, you will get an idea of what supplies you want to gather to dye fabric your way.
